High Standard Stables hosts several different shows a year. All
shows are relaxed, but very well organized and they run smoothly
so that the rider, horse, and spectators will have a fun time. So
come join us for our next show and compete for a chance at amazing
ribbons, trophies, sashes, and prizes! Please click on the entry

Anyone
interested in traveling to shows with High Standard Stables
HSS travels to numerous shows a year and several a month throughout
the year! Competing at rated hunter/jumper shows, jumper shows,
horse trials, and open shows. Going to shows requires a lot of work!
The showing part is very fun but there is much preparation that
has to be done before the show and clean up after. All students
who wish to show are welcome to but they will need to get their
horse ready the day before the show, help pack the trailer, and
unpack the trailer when we get back. A quick checklist of things
riders have to do which can take 2-4hours the night before.
Checklist
- Bathing (if
it is too cold out we will brush really well until horse shines!!!)
- Braiding/banding
- MANDATORY at all shows!!!
- Clean Tack
& Boots and polish boots
- Pack trailer
(tack, hay bags, water, show clothes)
- Take care
of your horse (offering hay, water, and treats throughout the
day!)
- Help unpack
and clean the trailer after the show
Some shows can
be a long day so make sure to go to bed early the night before :)

Summary of Costs from showing:
- Coaching:
$70/day or ($35/day if I am also showing) XC course walk if day
before H.T. is $20
- Lease
of HSS Horse: $60/day or $30/rider if horse is shared If multiple
day show $50/day or $25/rider
- Trailering:
$1/mile roundtrip (fee will be split if more than one rider)
- Braiding:
$35
- Entry
Fees: they can range from $7/class to $35/class depending
on the type of show
