Amy
has always been passionate about horses since a very young age.
She took lessons for 11 years before getting her first horse, Mr.
Wonderful. Together they accomplished everything competing in all
disciplines. They have taken several championships at the 'A' rated
hunter/jumper shows. Amy then proceeded to win several horse trials
until her horse got arthritis. After retiring Mr. Wonderful from
jumping, they picked up Western after which they won even more championships.
Together they competed in everything: eventing, hunter/jumpers,
dressage, jumpers, western, trail, showmanship. Because of this
wonderful horse, Amy is extremely versatile in her riding.
Since
Mr. Wonderful, Amy has trained numerous horses and students and
enjoys every minute of it. She is a certified riding instructor
in the CHA.
Amy
had has the privilege of training under several amazing trainers
such as Carol Kozlowski (Upper Level Eventer), Carel Ejijenaar (FEI
International Dressage Judge and past coach to Greek Olympic Jumping
Team), and Hank VanBergen (coach and trainer of the Dutch Dressage
Olympic Team). She also studied under Jo-Anne Young for four years
at Houghton College which enhanced her riding and all around horse
management skills.
After
receiving her business and equestrian degree from Houghton College
in 2007, Amy opened her business High Standard Stables in Dansville,
New York after her family move there.
Amy
is living her dream of teaching riders how to become the best riders
at any discipline and taking horses of all breeds and disciplines
to the show ring and competing.
